Electrifying our Fleet
A green revolution is sweeping the transportation sector and we’re thrilled to be a part of it. We’ve added 47 brand-new Lonestar EV yard tractors to our fleet. The best part? For our California-based clients, we offer pre-incentivized CORE grants that give a massive discount of over $120k on each unit. We’re not just driving forward; we’re driving towards a cleaner, more sustainable future.
Blooming Business Ventures
We’re excited to announce a few of the latest updates on our company’s growth and expansions. From new partnerships in the baking sector to strategic expansions in maintenance and produce, our dedication to delivering unmatched quality and service remains unwavering.
Flowers Blooming in the South: Our family has grown with a substantial dedicated startup in the baking world, Flowers Foods. With a whopping 207 hires spread across Florida and Louisiana, we’re geared up to deliver freshness at every doorstep.
Glistening Opportunities in the Desert: Las Vegas and Henderson are buzzing with our latest expansions. And we’re proud to announce our collaboration with Clean Harbor Environmental Services. With them, we’ve introduced 27 top-notch pieces of equipment to our maintenance program, ensuring optimal performance and environmental safety.
Southern Expansion: Collaborating with Southern Ionics, we’ve integrated 40 additional pieces of equipment into our maintenance program in Houston.
Houston’s Freshness Delivery: Our client list in the produce sector is expanding. Our newest partnership, with Brothers Produce, has added 28 new reefer units, ensuring their fresh produce reaches its destination in pristine condition.
Leadership Summit Highlights
The Sheraton in Pomona, CA, was recently abuzz with the energy of Team TCI. Our annual Leadership Summit was a roaring success! The executive team provided insightful presentations about the state of the company, our refined operations, revamped services, and our aggressive sales/marketing strategies. But it wasn’t all talk! The summit was peppered with engaging leadership exercises and enlightening breakout sessions. It was a day of reflection, inspiration, and setting new milestones. Here’s to steering Team TCI to loftier heights of success!
Departmental Updates
Rental
Facelift for Fontana: Our Fontana Rental lobby received a significant upgrade. From a complete rebuild of the interior to an attention-grabbing wall mural, it reflects our commitment to providing updated and top-notch facilities for all of our teams, wherever possible. Additional upgrades across many of our locations are coming soon, so be on the lookout.
Safety
Safety First, and Fun Too! The 2nd quarter saw the roll-out of our exciting Driver Safety Bingo initiative. All our drivers engaged in various safety tasks, aiming for those extra bucks. We were thrilled to see numerous $500 winners and a standout $1,200 winner. We also announced our Top 10% Driver Safety awards, coupled with a heartfelt driver appreciation gesture. Our safety crew handed out cool TCI backpacks embellished with our logo, celebrating an incredible 45-year service journey. A special shout-out to our Bingo champs – we dished out a total of $2,700 to 6 fortunate drivers!
Human Resources
Revamping Health Coverage: We always prioritize our employees’ welfare. With our new medical plan with Lucent Health, we’re taking leaps towards better, more transparent healthcare solutions. By transitioning to a Value Based Pricing model, we’re aiming for cost-effective, quality healthcare. Here, employees can anticipate their medical costs, ensuring no surprises.
Brokerage
Exponential Growth: 2023 seems to be the year of exponential growth for TCI Global Logistics. Their innovative approach to curating third-party and asset-light solutions has crowned them as the fastest expanding business unit. Some impressive numbers? 170% revenue growth and a whopping 140% headcount surge YoY. They’ve now got trailers stationed at 40% of consistent truckload shippers. The dedication doesn’t stop there; they’re venturing into Power Only Solutions, offering Spot and Scale Up coverage, and introducing Project and Roll Out Teams. A special mention to Ross Calame, who’s solidified his leadership team.
IT
Here’s a glimpse of our IT magicians! While they’re often working behind the scenes, they came together for a rare gathering during the TCI Summit. This event was their moment – to bond, share, and even try their hands at axe throwing after a sumptuous dinner. It’s not just about codes and algorithms; it’s about team spirit and shared memories. Hats off to the IT squad!
New and Updated Locations
Our commitment to growth is evident in the way we’ve expanded, not just in numbers, but in the depth and breadth of our services and our geographical footprint. New locations have blossomed across the country, signaling TCI’s ever-expanding horizon, while our established locations have continued to solidify our presence and service – receiving facelifts, updates, and even complete overhauls.
Shreveport, LA
This year we proudly unfurled the TCI banner in Shreveport, LA. Offering a rich portfolio of transportation services, our Shreveport branch caters to a multitude of needs, from truck rentals and leases to dedicated transport and fleet maintenance. Its prime location, just a stone’s throw from the Barksdale Air Force Base and the Red River district, ensures seamless accessibility. The facility stretches over 2 acres, housing a modern 4-bay shop and four dedicated offices, ready to serve sectors like Retail, Manufacturing, Food Service, Logistics, and much more.
Baton Rouge, LA
TCI’s expansion in Louisiana continued with the opening of our Baton Rouge facility. Right in the heart of Louisiana’s vibrant capital and a hop away from the Mississippi River, this facility sprawls across 2 acres and is armed with a state-of-the-art 3-bay shop. Besides a major dedicated operation for a leading baking company, it’s well-equipped to serve a myriad of industries in the “Red Stick” region.
Merced, CA
On the threshold of Yosemite National Park’s majestic gateway, TCI Merced has firmly planted its roots. Strategically positioned near the Merced Regional Airport, this facility stands as a testament to our commitment to diversification. Boasting a 2-bay shop and a dedicated office, it’s your one-stop-shop for Dedicated Transport, Full Service Leasing, Rentals, Maintenance, and even Used Truck Sales, with a special focus on sectors like Agriculture, renowned baking ventures, retail, and transportation.
Henderson, NV
Our Henderson hub is nearing its final touches, with 95% of the work completed. We’re excited to announce that our team has already moved in, ready to cater to their clients’ diverse needs.
San Bernardino, CA
Our San Bernardino location has undergone a series of exterior enhancements. At the heart of these upgrades is a re-imagining of our outside doors, designed to seamlessly blend functionality with contemporary aesthetics. As you approach our facility in the coming weeks, we hope this revamped exterior offers a fresh welcome (for both our team members and our clients) that matches the quality of a workplace you’ve come to expect from TCI.
Honoring Our Veterans

Leadership Development Program: We believe that our veterans bring an unparalleled level of discipline, dedication, and expertise to the workplace. With that in mind, we’re actively developing a Leadership Program in collaboration with the Department of Labor. This program will specifically cater to Techs and Driver Managers, equipping them with enhanced skills for a smooth transition into leadership roles.
Veterans Day Tribute: This coming Veterans Day, we’re set to unveil our next new truck wrap as a salute to the brave men and women who have served our nation. It’s just one moe way of saying ‘Thank You’ for their immeasurable sacrifices.
TCI RED Friday Shirts: The anticipation is building, and approval for our TCI RED Friday shirts is on the horizon. These shirts are a symbol of our support and appreciation for our veterans and active service members.
Guiding Other Businesses: Our commitment to veterans has caught the attention of other companies. We’re honored to have been approached to guide another company in establishing their own Veteran Program.
2023 Veteran Award: We’re immensely proud to announce that TCI has been conferred the Gold Award for the 2023 Veteran Award. This accolade reaffirms our dedication and unwavering support to our veterans.
November Clothing Drive: As winter approaches, we’re organizing a month-long clothing drive in November in association with Working Wardrobes and Vet NET. Let’s come together to make a difference!
Flags Across our Facilities: To further showcase our pride and respect for our nation and its heroes, we’ll be erecting American flags at all our brick and mortar locations.

This year TCI is proud to have been awarded with top honors in the nation! The Fleet Safety Awards honor companies developing and implementing superior safety and loss prevention programs through management commitment, employee involvement and program innovation.
Freightwaves Top 500
The FreightWaves Top 500 For-Hire Carrier list is a prestigious compilation that categorizes and ranks the top transportation companies based on the number of tractors they own or operate. This list is meticulously crafted using data drawn largely from publicly accessible databases, supplemented by direct inputs from company representatives. This year, TCI was ranked #91 overall.
2023 Top Green Fleets
Each year, Top Green Fleets honorees are selected by Heavy Duty Trucking (HDT) editors. The winners represent leadership of the country’s top 20 greenest fleets. The areas evaluated under this program include fleet electrification, alternative and renewable fuels, cleaner-burning engines, fuel and freight efficiency, “green” facilities, and testing new sustainable technologies.
