Four Years Strong: TCI Again Recognized As One of HDT’s Top Green Fleets

We’re proud to announce that TCI Transportation has been recognized as one of Heavy Duty Trucking’s (HDT) Top Green Fleets for 2025—marking the fourth consecutive year we’ve received this honor. This recognition places us alongside 19 other industry leaders who are setting the pace for sustainable practices in the trucking and logistics sector.

Each year, HDT’s editors select fleets that demonstrate exceptional commitment to sustainability across multiple categories, including alternative fuels, zero-emission vehicles, freight efficiency, and eco-friendly facilities. TCI’s inclusion in the 2025 list reflects our ongoing investments in clean technologies and forward-thinking operational strategies.

Driving Innovation in Sustainable Transportation

At TCI, sustainability is more than a trend—it’s a core part of how we operate. Over the past year, we’ve continued to advance our environmental efforts through:

  • Expanding Our Use of Alternative Fuels: Our fleet includes vehicles powered by compressed natural gas (CNG), renewable natural gas (RNG), and electricity—helping reduce our carbon footprint while providing reliable service to our customers.
  • Zero-Emission Vehicle Integration: We are actively incorporating battery-electric trucks into our fleet, with infrastructure plans underway to support their expansion in key service areas.
  • Fleet Efficiency & Telematics: By leveraging advanced route optimization tools, aerodynamic technologies, and idle-reduction systems, we consistently improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions across our operations.
  • Sustainable Partnerships: We work closely with OEMs, energy providers, and regulatory agencies to stay ahead of emerging green technologies and help shape the future of sustainable logistics.
  • Facility Enhancements: TCI continues to modernize our facilities with sustainability in mind, including electrification support infrastructure, energy-efficient systems, and eco-conscious design elements.

A Commitment to Progress

“We’re honored to be recognized by HDT once again for our green fleet efforts,” said TCI Co-President Ryan Flynn. “Our commitment to sustainability isn’t just about compliance—it’s about leading the way forward for our industry, our customers, and our communities.”

As we look ahead, TCI remains focused on scaling our sustainability initiatives. Whether it’s through fleet innovation, partnerships, or supporting our customers’ environmental goals, we’re proud to help drive a cleaner, more responsible future for transportation.

Partnering for a Greener Future

TCI is excited to announce a new partnership with Nevoya, a leading zero-emissions electric trucking carrier and technology-driven logistics platform. As part of this collaboration, TCI will lease five Tesla Semis to support Nevoya’s fleet expansion and help meet growing demand for zero-emissions transportation.

This milestone has been years in the making—when Tesla made the announcement to enter the Class 8 heavy-duty tractor market, TCI quickly followed and placed a deposit for several units. We are thrilled to finally see them on the road. Thanks to support from state voucher programs and Southern California Edison, the majority of the vehicle cost was funded—making this deal both environmentally and economically impactful.

“This partnership with Nevoya is a great example of what’s possible when innovation, timing, and sustainability come together,” said John Sappington, SVP of Sales at TCI Transportation. “We’re proud to support their 100% electric fleet with the addition of Tesla Semis—it’s a big step forward for both companies and a win for clean transportation. We chose the Tesla Semi because of its unique combination of long range and fast charging capabilities, which unlocks our ability to serve customers who drive more miles.”

“Our partnership with TCI reflects Nevoya’s commitment to working with leading shippers and 3PLs to make zero-emissions trucking scalable, cost-effective, and inevitable,” said Sami Khan, co-founder and CEO at Nevoya. “As Nevoya makes strides in electrifying America’s freight networks, expanding our fleet with trucks from TCI allows us to continue meeting growing demand while maximizing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and providing an exceptional experience for our customers.”

It’s one more reason TCI has proudly earned a spot on HDT’s Top Green Fleets list for four consecutive years, and we look forward to continuing our leadership in sustainable transportation.
